Radicalisation

Our School is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all its pupils. Every member of staff recognises that safeguarding against radicalisation and extremism is no different to safeguarding against any other vulnerability in today’s society. The Tackling Extremism and Radicalisation Policy sets out our beliefs, strategies and procedures to protect vulnerable individuals from being radicalised or exposed to extremist views, by identifying who they are and promptly providing them with support.

If you are at all worried that your child may be being radicalised by attempts from influential groups you can also raise your concern on the above form or by emailing Sue or Kirsty directly. Please see the Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy which may help you to spot possible signs; please be aware that the examples on their own do not mean a child has indeed been radicalised and any concerns should always be referred to your designated safeguarding leads (Sue Ackroyd/Kirsty Helliwell) or directly to the Police or your child’s Social Worker.

The Thinkuknow Parents and Carers website also contains a wealth of information, guidance and support for worried parents.

There is specific guidance for anyone who fears that their child has been a victim of online sexual exploitation or abuse.  To visit their website please click here.
