  HIGHER LEVEL LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT  

 Permanent contract to start as soon as possible after interview

 [NJC pt. 17-21>23 pro rata, dependent upon experience/qualifications

34.50 hours per week term time, plus one week training] 

 

A position has become available to add to our learning support provision in the classroom. The successful applicant will have significant experience of supporting and delivering in a school environment with children/young people and have the ability to provide effective learning strategies and develop cognition skills. Knowledge of student positive behaviour support and specific tools to promote good learning habits are desirable attributes, as is an ability to provide the foundations and scaffolding for literacy and numeracy.

  We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and resilient Higher Level Learning Support Assistant, with excellent communication skills and the ability to form strong relationships with children and young people.  The successful candidate will enjoy being part of an energetic and successful team, be keen to provide varied and stimulating learning experiences, be involved in education, health and care planning, report writing and, enjoy the challenge of working with some very special complex young children. The successful candidate will play an active part within the 24-hour curriculum, supporting learning in classroom settings, through outdoor learning opportunities and offer proactive support to young people and their families. They will work closely with the school’s therapy/communication team and with the support of Learning Mentor Teams which serve to provide holistic and creative wrap around care and support for all our young people.
