We are looking to appoint a teacher to deliver the Primary / EYFS curriculum.

LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT

A position has become available to add to our learning support provision in the classroom. Ideally, the successful applicant will have experience of supporting and delivering in a school environment with children/young people and have the ability to provide effective learning strategies and develop cognition skills. Knowledge of student positive behaviour support and specific tools to promote good learning habits are desirable attributes, as is an ability to provide the foundations and scaffolding for literacy and numeracy.

Work Experience Opportunity

  Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy Assistant. 

This is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Therapy or Speech and Language Therapy student to work within a well-established multi-disciplinary team. 

Flexible hours during term time only    

The William Henry Smith School Therapy team is a nationally recognised and specialist team working with boys with severe social, emotional and mental health difficulties.  Following a successful voluntary placement in May of a graduate Speech and Language Therapist, we would like to open out this opportunity to other university students in the field of Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy.

By working within the team in a voluntary assistant role you will gain valuable experience in the working life of a residential school, learn about the adaptions of practice to meet client need, gain insight into the workings of the different therapeutic disciplines on site and methods of communicating with this difficult client group.

We’re a vibrant and friendly team that are passionate about our work.  Our setting is lively, fast-paced and offers new challenges and considerations daily.  We’re looking for a passionate therapy assistant with a keen interest in gaining experience working with Speech and Language therapists and Occupational therapists. We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual with excellent communication skills, who has experience working in a school setting or with children and young people. This person should be keen to develop skills in assessment, interventions and school based therapeutic strategies. This volunteer opportunity requires a commitment for a minimum of 3 months.
