The William Henry Smith School in Brighouse are proud to announce that they held the Regional Qualifying Football Tournament for the 2020 ‘Engage in their future.’ Engage is a charitable organisation which was formed to enable Head Teachers working with social, emotional, mental health education to address and influence issues affecting this sector locally, regionally and nationally. The charity seeks to improve services for children experiencing SEMH difficulties.
Over a 100 hundred students attended the 2020 National Regional Qualifying Football Tournament at the school on Thursday 30 January to take part in the competition.
Qualification for the finals tournament was determined by a number of factors for schools taking part. They included fair play, effort, attitude and team spirit which was in abundance on the day, along with the final result of play.
The final will be played at St Georges Park, Staffordshire, the FA National Football Centre on Thursday 30th April 2020 which is the home to of England’s 28 national teams.
The school feels delighted that they were chosen to host this qualifying event and
we wish all the students taking part in the final good look and may the ‘Best Team Win’!
