Humanities
At WHSS we aim to ensure that students appreciate the importance that Geography and History will have on their lives. In Geography we achieve this by using a variety of techniques including; enquiry work outside the classroom, computers (including the internet), DVDs and other classroom-based resources such as up to date texts and work sheets. Students are encouraged to use geographical terms and skills to further their knowledge and understanding of how people in the world try and sort out problems that affect their and our lives. In History we find out about how princes and people fit together or fight and how we arrived with the country and the world we have today.
In Geography we study the National Curriculum programmes of study under the following headings:
- Weather and climate
